I advise on all aspects of employment law and industrial relations issues. I have done so for more than 14 years. I'm often called in to resolve complex or sensitive employment problems, to advise on the strategy and implementation of change programmes (whether large scale redundancies, restructuring or relocations) and, of course, to deal with difficult industrial relations issues. Clients have been kind enough to tell me that I bring calmness, clarity and commercial common sense to situations; so that together we find the solution that works best for them both legally and practically.
Perhaps the nicest feedback that I receive is that, despite the pressure of the situations we are dealing with, clients enjoy working together. Perhaps their perception is 'rose-tinted' by successful outcomes but, either way, I am grateful. I also have to say that I have worked with many great clients.
Like everyone at e3 my focus is always on achieving my client's goal and, just as importantly, doing so in the way that they want to achieve it.
Away from work, I used to be heavily involved in a variety of sports. Now I have three young children; so I don't do much sport and I am just heavy. I am a season ticket holder at my beloved Liverpool FC which has proved ample preparation for dealing with the emotional rollercoaster of parenthood.
